p4storyMia sits quietly and notices a warm glow in her chest. She places her hand over her heart and feels something magical.
p5storyMia closes her eyes and suddenly finds herself standing before a cozy little house—her heart-house! It glows softly inside her chest.
p6storyMia opens the door and steps inside. The heart-house is warm with soft furniture, glowing lights, and different colored rooms.
p7storyA bright yellow monster bounces up to Mia with a huge smile. 'Hi! I'm Happy!' it says cheerfully.
p8storyMia laughs and plays with Happy, dancing around the heart-house. She loves having Happy there.
p9storyA blue monster with droopy eyes appears in another room. 'I'm Sad,' it says softly. Mia feels uncomfortable.
p10storyThen a red monster with furrowed brows stomps in. 'I'm Angry!' it announces. Mia steps back, uncertain.
p11storyMia looks at Sad and Angry, then at Happy. 'I only want Happy here,' she says firmly.
p12storyMia tries to lead Sad toward the door. 'You should go,' she says gently but firmly.
p13storyShe points Angry toward the door too. 'You too. I don't need you here.'
p14storySad and Angry slowly walk toward the door, looking back at Mia with understanding eyes.
p15storyMia closes the door behind them and sighs with relief. Now it's just her and Happy.
p16storyMia and Happy play together, but something feels incomplete in the heart-house. Some rooms feel empty.
p17storyThe next day, Mia returns to her heart-house. Sad is sitting in the blue room again. 'How did you get back in?' Mia asks.
p18storyMia leads Sad out again, but when she turns around, Angry is in the red room. 'You're back too?' she says, frustrated.
p19storyMia tries locking the doors to the blue and red rooms. 'Stay out!' she calls.
p20storyBut the locks don't work. Sad and Angry keep appearing in their rooms, no matter what Mia does.
p21storyMia tries hiding Sad under a blanket, but Sad just sits there patiently, still visible.
p22storyShe tries pushing Angry into a closet, but Angry won't stay put and keeps coming back out.
p23storyThe heart-house feels chaotic. Mia runs from room to room, trying to keep Sad and Angry away while Happy watches quietly.
p24storyExhausted, Mia sits down in the middle of her heart-house. 'Why won't you leave?' she asks Sad and Angry.
p25story'Because we live here too,' Sad says softly. 'We're part of you,' Angry adds, less loudly than before.
p26storyMia doesn't understand yet, but she's too tired to keep pushing them away. She leaves her heart-house feeling confused.
p27storyOutside her heart-house, in the real world, Mia loses her favorite toy. She searches everywhere but can't find it.
p28storyMia returns to her heart-house and finds Sad waiting in the blue room. Tears start forming in Mia's eyes.
p29storySad comes over and sits beside Mia. 'It's okay to cry,' Sad says gently. Mia lets the tears flow.
p30storyAfter crying with Sad, Mia feels lighter, like something heavy has been released. 'Thank you,' she whispers to Sad.
p31storyAnother day, someone takes Mia's turn on the swing and won't give it back. Mia feels heat rising in her chest.
p32storyIn her heart-house, Angry appears in the red room, standing tall. 'That's not fair!' Angry says.
p33storyWith Angry's help, Mia finds her voice. 'Excuse me, it's my turn!' she says clearly and firmly.
p34storyThe other child gives back the swing. Mia feels proud and strong. Angry nods approvingly.
p35storyBack in her heart-house, Mia looks at Sad and Angry with new eyes. 'You both helped me,' she says with wonder.
p36storyHappy bounces over and puts arms around Sad and Angry. 'We're all a team!' Happy says brightly.
p37storyMia kneels down to Sad and Angry. 'I'm sorry I tried to make you leave. I didn't understand.'
p38story'You belong here just as much as Happy does,' Mia says, opening her arms to all three monsters.
p39storyThe three Feelings Monsters gather around Mia in a warm hug. The heart-house glows brighter than ever.
p40storyMia watches as the monsters move through the heart-house together, each in their own special room but connected.
p41story'Sad helps me when I need to cry and heal,' Mia says, understanding now. Sad smiles gently.
p42story'Angry helps me stand up for myself and know when something's wrong,' Mia continues. Angry stands proud.
p43story'And Happy helps me enjoy the good moments and feel joy,' Mia says. Happy beams and bounces.
p44story'Together, you all help me be me,' Mia says, looking at her three Feelings Monsters with love and acceptance.
p45storyNow Mia visits her heart-house every day. All three monsters live there in harmony, each in their colored room.
p46storySometimes Happy is loudest, sometimes Sad needs attention, sometimes Angry has something to say. And that's okay.
p47storyMia places her hand on her chest and smiles. Her heart-house is complete with all her feelings inside.
p48story'All my feelings have a home in here,' Mia says. 'And that makes me whole.' The heart-house glows warmly.
